Frequently Asked Questions
Team members earn a 50% commission on services, with pay based on the duration of each visit. Base rates start at approximately $11 for a 20-minute service, $13 for a 30-minute service, $18 for a 45-minute service, and $23 for a 60-minute service. Beyond the base pay, there are plenty of opportunities to increase earnings. You can earn premiums for caring for extra pets, handling last-minute requests, working on federal holidays, and, of course, receiving client tips—which often add an extra $5–$15 per visit! This structure offers flexibility and the chance to earn more based on your availability and dedication.
At Hands N Paws, we make it simple for you to focus on what you love—caring for pets—while we handle all the administrative tasks like advertising the business, onboarding new clients, and handling ongoing client support. That said, using your own team member account in our software (also available as a mobile app), you’ll receive notifications whenever clients submit service requests. These notifications will say “New Service Available,” and all members of the pet care team will see them at the same time. From there, it’s a first-come, first-served system—whoever accepts the request first adds it directly to their personal schedule.
Many clients have recurring weekly dog walking schedules, with services available for you to claim on a rolling 90-day basis. Other clients book services less frequently, often when they travel or are away. Regardless of the situation, new service requests come in daily, providing you with plenty of opportunities to accept visits and create a work schedule that fits your preferences!
